The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will extend its overnight milling operations along Rt. 38 for an additional night. The work was scheduled to be complete this morning, but it will continue from Wednesday at 8 p.m. into Thursday morning.
Milling operations will take place tonight from Pleasant St. to Nelson St. Southbound traffic will be detoured onto Summer Street and back to Pleasant Street.
All work is now expected to conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12.
Police details will be deployed to safely direct traffic through the work zone. This work is part of a $4.6 million project for resurfacing and related work along a section of Route 38. The work is expected to be completed in early fall 2023.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution.
