Tewksbury Fire Department firefighters Ken Sandberg and Pete Smith held a CPR training session on Sunday for the Tewksbury No Excuse Mom group.
The local chapter is part of a global “No Excuse Mom” movement that has more than 350 free workout communities in 25+ countries. They offer free workouts as well as encouragement, friendship, community and support.
After the group’s weekly Sunday morning workout, Sandberg arrived at Livingston Park, manikins in tow, and set up for the class. He shared impactful real life stories and light-hearted jokes to keep things fun while covering adult and infant CPR, choking response and AED training for cardiovascular emergencies.

Group members were able to ask questions and go over many different scenarios. Each mom was put to the test at the end of the class, practicing on the manikins, to make sure everyone felt confident and prepared.
Having more people in the No Excuse Mom group, and in our community, that are educated and prepared in the event of an emergency, is invaluable.
