Your family may qualify for payments toward winter heating bills, discounts on monthly utility bills, a no-cost home energy assessment, free appliance replacement and other energy-saving improvements for your home, all at no cost to you.
Massachusetts residents who meet income guidelines can access the Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps eligible households pay the cost of heating their homes, and HEARTWAP, which provides emergency heating system repair and replacement services.
Energy assistance is available to both homeowners and renters, including households whose cost of heat is included in their rent. Eligibility is based on household size and the gross annual income of every household member 18 years of age or older. Household income cannot exceed 60% of estimated State Median Income.
As an example, a household of four must earn no more than $78,751.
