Chief Joseph Kearns of the Tewksbury Fire Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Lt. Paul Guttadauro to Deputy Fire Chief. He was sworn in by town clerk Denise Graffeo (above).
Lt. Guttadauro went through a Civil Service Assessment Center and interviewed with the Fire Chief, Town Manager and Human Resources Director to be chosen as the new Deputy Chief. Guttadauro has been a member of the Tewksbury Fire Department since April 1994 and has held the rank of Lieutenant since 2004.
“I am looking forward to working with Deputy Guttadauro and have full confidence in him to continue to carry out the mission of the Tewksbury Fire Department,” said Kearns, who went on to thank the other four very qualified candidates who applied for the position.
Guttadauro was most recently named Training Officer of the department, a position he assumed in July 2021, and in that role has established a great program. He will replace Deputy Al Vasas, who is retiring after 32 years with the TFD.
