February is Love Your Library month, and the Friends of the Tewksbury Library are holding an online fundraiser. Check out coffee, hot chocolate and treats from Java Joe here. All proceeds fund programming at the Library. The Friends are also welcoming new members.

Join the staff from the Boston Public Library to learn about many free business, finance and career resources and upcoming virtual events offered by the BPL’s Kirstein Business Library & Innovation Center. The Library and Innovation Center offers free services to job seekers, entrepreneurs, investors, nonprofits, inventors and media creators. Many of these resources and services are available virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Housing Authority

Finance Committee
When: Monday, Jan. 31, 7:00 p.m.
Where: This is a virtual WebEx meeting. Residents may dial in to participate.

It’s budget review time, and the Finance Committee has another full agenda tonight, including the fire department, regional communications center and the Tewksbury Telemedia and cable TV enterprise fund. To participate, call 978-771-0819.

Council on Aging
When: Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2 p.m.

The COA will discuss upcoming March events and mask mandates.

HIdden Battles Heroes Support Group
When: Tuesday, Feb. 15, 7 – 8 p.m.
Where: The Bridge Club of Greater Lowell, 33 E. Merrimack St.

Hidden Battles is running a series of mental-health support groups for all veterans and first responders, including police, fire, EMS, 911 dispatchers, nurses and medical professionals and corrections officers. Conservation Commission

2230 Main St. Affordable Housing Lottery Info Session
When: Wed., Feb. 16, 7 – 8 p.m.
Where: Meeting room at the Tewksbury Public Library

There are four one-bedroom and five two-bedroom affordable units available at the new building at 2230 Main St. At this meeting, those interested can learn more about the units, income guidelines and processes. 

Board of Health
When: Thursday, Feb. 17, 6 p.m.
Where: Town Hall and on TewksburyTV

The Board of Health will reappoint the town’s public health agents, discuss the 2022 fee schedule and receive an update on Oliveira Farm, which has had its operations suspended due to animal cruelty.

Fundraiser for Rich Russo for School Committee
When: Thursday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m.
Where: Skybox

Donations will be accepted at the door. Checks can be made out to: The Committee to Elect Rich Russo. According to event organizers, there will be opportunities available to see how you can get involved in the campaign. Russo will speak on why he believes he deserves your support for School Committee. Cash bar and appetizers will be available. Learn more.

Film Screening: Mass

Enjoy a screening of Mass, a drama starring Jason Isaacs, Martha Plimpton, Reed Birney and Ann Dowd. Aftermath of a school shooting tragedy that affects the lives of two sets of parents in different ways. PG-13. 111 minutes.

Registration required. Limited to 20 seats. No candy & water will be served for the time being. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library and Tewksbury Lions Club.

Lorna is a U.S. Army veteran and 25-year resident of Tewksbury who has written for organizations ranging from the DIA to InformationWeek to a free weekly in New London that sent her to interview the pastry chef at Foxwoods.
