Tewksbury Weekend Happenings for Dec. 31

The Tewksbury Weekend Happenings column is back thanks to a new collaboration between the Carnation and Tewksbury Connected.

Many Tewksbury bars and restaurants have New Year’s Eve celebrations, and there is a local opportunity to view fireworks celebrating 2022.

Andover First Night & Fireworks
When:
Friday, Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Cormier Youth Center

Don’t miss it! Our fireworks will be the biggest display Andover has had in a long time, if not the biggest ever. Located in the field behind Cormier Youth Center. Best viewing is either behind Doherty School, behind Cormier Youth Center or in the park. Learn more.

Winterfest at Tuscan Village
When:
Friday, Dec. 31
Where: Tuscan Village, Salem, NH

All day ice skating. Ice bar, igloo dining, live music and family fun. Learn more.

Drag Me To Brunch to Benefit Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell
When:
Sunday, Jan. 2. Doors open at 1 p.m., and show starts promptly at 2 p.m.
Where: Moonstones Chelmsford
Cost: $60

Drag Me to Brunch is a raucous three-course brunch with drag performances, hosted by Serena Summers. Enjoy a champagne toast or order theme cocktails created just for this event.
The holidays can be exhausting. Get your mojo back with brunch, heels, glittery cocktails and a belly laugh while supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Lowell. Tickets required.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED-BL
When:
Sunday, Jan. 2, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Where: Element Chelmsford
Cost: $85

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to complete the online portion. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Learn more.

Finally, take a moment to help out the Zoning Bylaw Committee by providing input regarding retail marijuana use in Tewksbury. You can fill out the survey here. All responses are anonymous. The results from this survey will be compiled and reviewed by the Committee to determine if there is significant interest in revisiting retail marijuana uses.
