Breaking News: Malone Announces Retirement

At tonight’s meeting of the Tewksbury School Committee, Superintendent Chris Malone announced that he has submitted paperwork with the state to retire.

“I am very proud of what we have accomplished with Tewksbury Public Schools,” said Malone. “I have been retirement-eligible here for a little while, so it’s a piece I kinds of wrestle with.”

He added that while he struggled with the decision, he is looking forward to the transition. Committee members expressed appreciation for his service.

While the request has not yet been approved by the state, Malone anticipates his last day to be Feb. 25.
