Town clerk Denise Graffeo has posted a calendar of major 2022 town events, from the annual election to all Town Meetings.
Of note for residents new to town or who have not yet registered are deadlines to sign up to participate.

Citizen articles for May Annual Town Meetings require 10 signatures from registered voters, while articles for Special Town Meetings require 100 signatures. Proposed articles must be reviewed by town counsel to ensure they conform with state laws and town bylaws, so the deadlines for submission of all required elements — the article itself, signatures and a brief summary of the intent of the article — will be at least a month ahead.
For example, materials for the “no knock” and planning board term length articles that passed at the Oct. 5, 2021 Special Town Meeting were due Aug. 20. The town clerk can advise interested residents on deadlines and provide examples. Find more info here.
As to candidates for Select Board, School Committee, Planning Board and Board of Health, nomination papers will be available on Monday, Jan. 3 and must be turned in with 50 signatures from residents who are registered to vote in Tewksbury by Monday, Feb. 11.
[…] That also means that any citizen who wishes to place an article on that warrant has less than two months to turn in a draft and 100 signatures. Learn more about citizen articles. […]
