Feeling Lucky? Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks Welcome Bingo Players Tonight

Did you know that bingo is actually good for the brain? A study by British researchers showed frequent players were faster and more accurate than nonplayers on tests measuring memory, mental speed and the ability to scan for information. Older players even outperformed younger counterparts, suggesting regular bingo could keep our minds sharper for longer.

To get your brain workout, the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks, at 777 South St., holds bingo nights on Tuesdays for those 18 and over. You’ll find door prizes, a progressive jackpot, special games and cash prizes. Doors open at 4 p.m. so you can grab your lucky seat. Sheets are sold starting at 5:45 p.m., and games begin at 6:45 p.m.

The Elks’ Emblem club handles food. While the menu changes, there are usually pizza, pastries and soda available for purchase. Coffee, water and tea are free.

The Elks follow state Covid guidelines and are currently asking unvaccinated guests to mask up.

Grab some friends, bring a snack or get one there and give your brain a workout!
