Can’t attend Crafternoon??? Try CrafterDARK, a monthly crafting date after work! Calling all knitters, crocheters, needle workers, beaders, and colorists! Triangle: The Fire that Changed America by David Von Drehle is the dramatic story of the fire that broke out in the Triangle Shirtwaist factory in New York City in 1911. It chronicles the fire in harrowing detail and gives an insightful look at how this tragedy transformed politics and gave rise to urban liberalism. New members are always welcome! Join French art historian Tosca Ruggieri to discover more about the rich and fascinating Art Nouveau movement born in Nancy, France. The École de Nancy was a group of artists and designers active in the city of Nancy during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The École de Nancy sought to create a new style of decorative arts that broke away from historical models and focused on the natural forms found in plants and flowers. The artists and designers of the École de Nancy worked in a variety of media, including glass, ceramics, furniture, textiles, and architecture, and they sought to integrate these different forms of art into a cohesive whole. Some notable members of the Ecole de Nancy were Louis Majorelle, Émile Gallé and Henri Sauvage. Their work helped to popularize the style and influence a new generation of furniture maker, glassmaker, ceramists and architects. Led by art historian and tour guide Tosca Ruggieri, owner of Art with Tosca.

VIRTUAL: An Evening With Sally Snowman, The Last Lightkeeper of Boston Light (*RR)

Boston Light – the first established Light Station in colonial America – began lighting the way for safe navigation into the fledging maritime port of Boston in 1716. The Fresnel Lens in the lantern room and fog signal apparatus situated on Little Brewster Island at the entrance to Boston Harbor continues as an active Coast Guard maintained aid-to-navigation, today. However, its notoriety in the maritime community as the “the last manned Coast Guard Light Station” in the country has come to closure with the retirement of Sally Snowman, its 70th keeper. Sally will share a presentation of Boston Light’s 307 years of history and offer a few anecdotes from her experience as a 21st century keeper. Sally will be joined by her husband Jay Thomson and U.S. Lighthouse Society Historian Jeremy D’Entremont.

Ever heard of the viral craft sensation, decoden? In this craft, Cake-Decorated Box, we will be using a wooden box as a base, then we will add: craft paint for color, decoden (cream 3d glue) for the illusion of frosting and whipped cream, puffy paint, and a variety of decoration such as fake sprinkles and fake dessert charms to bring it all together. This event is for teens in grades 6-12.

Join us for a heartwarming event where kids come together to create beautiful Valentine’s Day cards for seniors in our community! This event encourages creativity, kindness, and connection, as children design personalized cards to brighten the day of a senior who may be feeling lonely or isolated this Valentine’s Day. We’ll make unique cards using colorful paper, markers, stickers, and more, to share messages of love, joy, and friendship. Not only will this be a fun hands-on activity, but it will also be a meaningful way to spread happiness and show appreciation to seniors who have contributed so much to our community. In collaboration with Tewksbury Senior Center, the cards will be delivered to homebound seniors, bringing smiles to faces and warmth to hearts.

Babies and their caregivers will enjoy simple stories, rhymes, songs, and bounces that support early language development and bonding. This program is perfect for infants who sit in a caregiver’s lap and are just beginning to explore the world through sound and movement. Join us for sweet moments, early literacy fun, and lots of snuggles. Baby Lapsit is designed for young children ages 0 to 2 years old and their caregivers.
